Happy New Year 2018

It is a new year, and I have been doing this lifestyle for about a week. As of yesterday I lost 8 pounds, but last night, the hubby made a roast, sauce, potatoes, and Brussels sprouts.  I had a nice glass of wine, a few Christmas cookies, and some fruitcake to say goodbye to 2018.

As of this morning, I was up about 0.8 pounds, but it is ok.  I know I will lose it soon.

I also have gotten a rotten flu that kicked my butt. It started with a tight chest on Christmas morning and has crescendoed to a persistent, mean, rotten deep cough, nasal congestion, and a lost voice.  I am also pretty short of breath.

Updates for the program
I am now tracking my diet (even though I know I don't have to) to see what my nutrient intake is.  I use an app called Cronometer that I bought a couple years ago to do this.  It is better than other apps because it tracks EVERYTHING - essential amino acids, ALL the vitamins, and more specific nutrients.  I started it a couple of days ago, and so far is so good.  It also links up to Apple Health so my biometrics are being captured.

As of this morning, I am also tracking my blood pressure as a biometric.  It is running high because of my antidepressants, and I would like to see it reduce significantly.  I am not sure when I am going to attempt working out do to the breathing issue.

I am remaining optimistic.
